Description

This Advent text is set to an easy-to-sing but not-too-familiar tune. The AAB form makes it easily taught to the choir or congregation.

As a prayer for the Advent season, the text implores God to open our eyes and warm our hearts as we await the birth of Christ. The final line is the “zinger”: Each year when Christmas makes its rounds, the birth of Jesus still astounds.
